Changing the World

How will I change the world?  How do I want to be remembered?

May God grant me with the confidence to think I can make a difference in the world, so that I can do the things which others think cannot be done.

What do I care about?  What am I passionate about?  Who is someone I can look to for inspiration?

Whenever I hear a mourning dove, I think of my grandma's house in Little River, Kansas.  She had wide porches that I loved to sit out on.  Whenever I was there, I would hear the call of the mourning dove.  I remember asking my mother what kind of bird made that distinctive mournful coo.  She told me that it was the mourning dove.  She said, "When I hear one, I always think of my grandma's house because they were always around there too."  Her grandma's house had been in Marquette, a town close by.  How odd that the mourning dove's call reminded both my mother and I of our grandmas.

Now that I live in Texas, I very often hear the coo of the mourning dove around my house or when I am out walking in the neighborhood.   I always pay close attention when I hear the coos as they have special meaning to me . They call me to the past....my grandma's house, my mom, and the Lord giving me a special blessing to remind me of both of them.

There is a recent trend to define your life in six words.  That does not sound like enough words, but many have successfully reduced their life's meaning to only six little words.

This is the result:
